Experience a Shabbat service at Temple Judea and you will know the importance and value we place on music as part of the worship experience. Music not only lifts the spirit but opens the doors to prayer in a unique way.

This year Temple Judea is pleased to have two very special musical talents.

Cantorial Soloists

The Shaposhnikov Trio
Dimitry, Alla, Irene Shaposhnikov
The Shaposhnikov family came from the former Soviet Union in 1990. Music has always been a major part of their life. In 1992 Dimitry, Alla, and Irene started singing in the choir of Temple Emanu-El of Miami. Under the guidance and training of Cantor Yehuda Shifman, they became the Shaposhnikov Trio. Together, they bring a special spirit and unique sound to the worship experience. Their ability to work with children and involve the entire congregation in musical prayer is what makes them an exciting addition to our Shabbat and Festival services for the coming year.

Michelle Auslander
This year we welcome the beautiful soprano voice of Michelle Auslander. Michelle joins us for both the High Holy Days and Shabbat worship. Trained at the Peabody Conservatory and completing her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance at George Mason University, she joined the faculty of FIU in August, 2004. Michelle holds the Master's of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Boston University and recently received a Performer's Diploma in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. The beauty of Michelle’s voice is matched by the warmth of her smile and personality. Her sound invites the congregation to feel the comfort of tradition and sets the mood for a truly moving and spiritual Shabbat experience.

Limor Meital, Director of Youth Education Program

The Temple Judea Youth Education Program is a source of pride for our congregation. We are a true experiential learning center that embraces the philosophy: Children Learn By Doing.

As our director, Limor embraces the challenges of creating innovative programs to keep our children engaged and excited about Jewish learning. We seek ways to involve the whole family in a learning experience that helps to develop positive Jewish identity.

Born in Israel and now living in South Florida with her family, Ms. Meital has a unique perspective. But a love for children and Jewish Education are what makes her a special part of Temple Judea’s Youth Education Program.
