Women of Reform Judaism

The Youth, Education & Special Projects (YES) Fund represents the ongoing commitment of Women of Reform Judaism to strengthening the institutions of Reform Judaism worldwide and supporting its future leadership. The Fund consists of cash contributions as well as contributions made by the purchase of items from the YES Fund Collection.

The Women of Reform Judaism represents the Sisterhood of Temple Judea. It’s intergenerational membership, including women and girls of all ages, is reflective of the spirit of our temple.

Join us to CELEBRATE:  We know the importance of a positive Jewish experience for young and old alike.  We are there with goodies for Sukkot, flags for Simchat Torah, candles and dreidles for Chanukah, Hamentashen for Purim, making each holiday a festive time to remember.
Join us to LEARN: We understand the importance of challenging ourselves to grow and expand at every age.  We are there with mini Torahs for beginning religious school students,  gifts of recognition for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students, educational speakers and workshops for our members and friends.
Join us to SUPPORT: Support for our temple that is financial as well as service directed, for our college students through a continued temple connection, for the community through service projects and for each other through sisterhood.
This is what we are about and so much more.

WRJ NEWS - January 2009

We hope you all had a wonderful Hanukkah, sharing the holidays with friends and family.

We had a successful holiday fair at the Temple last month and were glad to see many of you coming into the gift shop for your holiday shopping.  Nina Golub and her helpers are working there tirelessly, so please stop in to say hello and see what lovely gifts she has so you can think of the gift shop the next time you need something.  It's an easy way to raise funds for all we want to do for our Temple.

We are planning our next event with the Men's Club, and as soon as it's finalized we'll let you know all about it.
Ellie Schweitzer and her committee are working hard planning for the golf tournament.  She is looking to Sisterhood for help.  This year they want the prizes for the raffle and auction to come only from restaurants.  It will be much easier than going to the stores, whereas the restaurants are more eager to advertise dinner or lunch for two, and they're more approachable.

We need your help.  Just a few hours one afternoon will do it.   Please call Brenda or Roberta, it will be very much appreciated and we're hoping will put the temple in a plus financial situation in these difficult economic times.
I've told Ellie she can count on the help of Sisterhood, and hope we can count on you.

Also, don’t forget to RSVP for our Lunch & Fashion Show on the 13th.
