Bar and Bat Mitzvah Training

At Temple Judea, the B’nai Mitzvah ceremony is not just a Life Cycle event, it is part of a journey. It is not the end but a beginning. Every child is encouraged, instructed and supported toward this special event.

Students attend Religious School and Hebrew School for at least 2 years prior to their ceremony. Every student is expected to attend 18 worship services and complete 13 Mitzvah projects the year before their ceremony. Rabbi Levine personally prepares each B’nai Mitzvah student to read their torah portion and to lead the congregation in worship. His dedication and support ensures each child will succeed.

We understand the importance and often the stress of this occasion for many families. Our members share their experiences with each other in an Adult B’nai Mitzvah class. Our office staff is also on hand to answer your questions and help guide you through the planning.

We look forward to each family building a bond with the temple and the rabbi as they study, plan and celebrate this important life cycle event with the congregation. At Temple Judea, we embrace the B’nai Mitzvah ceremony as one step in a Jewish journey for the whole family that leads to a life time of commitment and temple involvement.
